– Justa Grata Honoria –

Daughter of Galla Placidia and her second husband, Costantius. Honoria is the woman that led Attila, king of the Huns, to Italy. Refusing to follow the ascetic life that her brother Valentinian had decided for her, she was granted a personal habitation in which she had an affair with her assets’ administrator. In the 449CE their relationship was found out, the man executed and Honoria engaged to a senator. In order to get her personal vendetta, Honoria calls the Huns upon her brother Valentinian III. She send one of her eunuchs with money and her ring at the court of Attila. He interprets this as a marriage proposal. As Honoria is sent back to Ravenna, where she will be imrpisoned too, Attila invades Gaul first and the following year Italy as well, demanding for the princess to be given to him unharmed and with her the share of the empire she inherited. Futile is for the roman to try and explain the pre-existing engagement of Honoria and that in the roman society is only the son who inherits the empire.

Attila retires in order to organize his army, but dies suddenly the year after.

do not reblog this unless you mean it. I have dealt with so much anti-semitism in my life and the number of times I get it from “open-minded liberals” is disturbing. Remember this summer when the Dyke Marches banned people for having a rainbow flag with a Star of David on it? I was accused of playing my “Jew card” too much when I tried to get my shitty goy roommate to stop making Auschwitz jokes.

Being anti-nazi does not equal support for the Jewish community. Do not claim you support Jews just because you recognize that Nazis are terrible. Surprise, we actually have more to us than the Holocaust!
