question for other people with migraine issues –

is imitrex/sumatriptan only effective maybe one in three times for any of you, too, or am I alone out here?

As someone who developed an allergy to Imitrex while taking it, I’d say look into the list of reactions it causes or see if there’s something you’re consuming that is canceling out the help. On the other hand, a coworker of mine takes it for her migraines and has found that when Imitrex won’t help, gabapentin will. Depending on your state, it may not be tacked onto the Class-Whatever opiod list and you might have an easier time getting a low dosage to see if it helps.

Or, you might be like my mom and it’s just making it’s way to stop working altogether. If anything, maybe contact the doctor who prescribed it to you and see if  you can get an appointment with them to talk about what’s happening? They might be able to find something that will help you when it’s not working.

Thank you so, so much! I’m waiting to hear back from the prescribing physician now, but it’s good to know there’s all sorts of things that might be why it no longer works…
